Panama Missions has introduced thousands of Panamanian children to the joy of Christmas. Since December 2001 Panama Missions has distributed thousands of plastic shoe boxes filled with small gifts (toys, clothing, school supplies and toiletries). Each box is packed for a specific age and gender, from infant to teenager. A U.S. mission team travels to Panama in mid-December to join forces with Panamanian Christians to distribute the gifts - along with Bibles, tracts, and other Bible literature - to needy children in churches, remote communities, schools and hospitals. Operation Christmas Joy 2009 was the most exciting ever. Children who had never before experienced a "wrapped gift" received the wonderful shoebox gifts prepared by caring Christians in the United States. In one area, children who lived in extreme poverty were each given three sets of new clothing, some hand sewn. Hundreds of hospitalized children in Panama City received gifts from "Santa" who offered prayers for many. Below find a report of the 2009 OCJ trip from Director Larry Brady, filled with pictures.
