Panama Missions is associated with the churches of Christ, and is overseen by the Childersburg, Alabama congregation. As an organization, we exist to take the Gospel to the people of Panama. This Gospel (Good News), as taught in the New Testament, involves meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of the people. With this in mind, Panama Missions teaches the Good News of salvation brought by our Lord, Jesus Christ; provides medical care for the sick; builds houses and church buildings; distributes clothing, food, and other necessities; and seeks to improve the lives of people who are in need.

As you browse through our website, notice the different areas in which Panama Missions seeks to impact the people of Panama in a positive way, from reaching out to those in prison, to providing education for children who would not otherwise go to school.

Panama Missions began more than twenty-five years ago as the dream of a single man - Larry Brady - of Montgomery, Alabama. When his military service took him to the country of Panama, Larry became aware of the needs of the people, both spiritual and physical. He began working with a church in Panama City, serving as a preacher and working to help provide for the needs of the poor. The work spread, moving first to Chepo, later to Tortí, then further eastward to people throughout the Darién and in other areas.

The work not only spread geographically, but in scope and practice as well. What began as ministering to the spiritual needs of the people became the establishment of many churches, and the training and support of a great number of workers who teach the gospel to the people. The efforts to meet the physical needs of the poor became a multi-faceted work that now involves medical teams, construction workers, and the distribution of tons of food, clothing, and much-needed supplies to the poor. The dream of a single man now involves hundreds of workers, both in the U.S. and in Panama, the cooperation of two governments, and the glad-hearted work of Christians in both countries.

If you are touched by what you see here and wish to have a part in it, you may do so by contributing goods or money, or perhaps by accompanying a team to work in Panama.

Come back often, as the site will change with the progress of Panama Missions. May God bless you richly.
